STAY TUNED
been feeling
living
writing
out
my thoughts
holding myself accountable
finding that some
flow
meander
and are already beyond me
and others
are difficult to weave
coming-out in fragments
snippets
interjections
i’ve been trying to catch them gently
bug net in hand, at the ready
sweeping side to side
in my mind’s tall grasses
the following images
are a sneak glimpse into
a project of mine that is attempting
to give these emotions and experiences
some expansion
or reordering
of interior dimensions
still very much chewing
not yet consuming or digesting
but metabolizing starts with drool
and i am
drooling
all over the questions
ABOUT A POEM
i waited months, if not a year or more for a certain pair of shoes to go on sale. not only to save some money for other life things, but to practice patience. to practice delayed gratification. to practice attraction. repulsion. to practice modesty and appreciation for what i already have. when the shoes arrived at the house (our local shoe store couldn't order the specific model, i tried), i immediately put them on and went to Madison for an event. some shoes need a break in period, oh not these. these were fully integrated immediately. sometimes it’s like that. this poem navigates the colorways of said shoes and possible combinations/outcomes.

STACKED
mostly poetry, i’ve been curating my readings through people i admire. i’ll ask them to suggest a book or two and that is how this collection was partly compiled. Mónica de la Torre came to town a couple weeks ago for a poetry reading and it got my brain jogging and heart quivering. Poetics of Relation was used as an “oracle & guide” for a recent creative writing workshop lead by Liat Tzvi Mayer at Woodland Pattern. heavy material, but oh so necessary to think about and process or allow space.
a few recent zines. from MKE Zine Fest and recent poetry event/tour. lots of Chicago & Milwaukee love.

SEE YOU
still time to visit the paired solo exhibitions of Jon Horvath & Jerry Butler in Madison. highly highly suggest seeing Horvath’s “Wide Eyed” photographic wandering pictures and seeing all the textural, layered colors of Butler’s compositions. grateful to have attended the reception.
sunday was the sold out show of Mei Semones’ headline tour with John Roseboro, so if you can time travel, can find me there. they closed with a duet of Waters of March. give it a listen or try to catch them on tour now.
there is a one night only public screening exhibition of a collaborative workshop, pool v. new experimental work alongside curated selections. something juicy always comes of these collective workshops!
opening reception of Isaac Harris’ exhibition, Led By Jesús at Var Gallery is on the 20th this month. excited about this.
a poetry thing hosted by Lewis and Antonio is as follows Sunday 6/22 7:30pm at Sugar Maple. i always am eager and look forward to these intimate gatherings.
friend hangouts are on the calendar sprinkled between work projects. the house is getting so so close to being livable. kitchen is fully functional. bathroom is good to go besides shower tiles. needs some tiling for shower/backsplashes, concrete floor to be cleaned/sealed, pantry shelves/door. then i think it’ll be ready enough. other projects can be tackled at a more leisurely pace. i spend most my time in the space, even when not working on projects. this is the first newsletter written here. i’m sure i’ll be around at local poetry readings in the next couple weeks, maybe a hardcore show soon. or driving with the windows down on county roads. or out hiking, or walking aimlessly in my new shoes, exploring new to me areas or well worn paths.
